WALNUT TREE LODGE SCHOOL

Located in the heart of the Bedfordshire countryside, Walnut Tree Lodge School is Continuum's first school that holistically connects the National Curriculum with the therapeutic input of working with farmyard animals. The school caters for eight pupils, providing education with a focus on the development of practical skills and land based studies.

Whilst at the school, pupils learn the skills to grow organic vegetables, herbs and fruit and have the responsibility for feeding the resident chickens, sheep and pigs once a day. Pupils are also offered the opportunity to study BTEC Animal Care should they wish.

The school has strong links with the local farming community and is close to national wildlife parks.

The school also welcomes day visits from external pupils which focus around a programme providing pre and post visit workplans and exercises. Groups of up to 12 can be accomodated.
